Definition of cosmetic surgery:

Adapted from google
Pros:

·         Psychological issues

You might feel curious as to how palstic surgery can provide health benefits!
Nose jobs can have a positive impact on women who have breathing problems due to a deviated septum. Plastic surgery procedures can actually help them breathe better with reduced efforts from their side, having a positive impacts on women with breathing problem. Breast reduction proves to be beneficial for those suffering from chronic backpains.
However, plastic surgery can also cause harm to one's health no matter mentally or physically.
Serious nerve damages can leave your face completely numb, void of all sensation and the pain might only subside after a long time. However, in severe cases, it is an irreversible process. If massive alteration is done, it might cause removal of significant amount of skin and tissues, possibly leading to substantial blood loss. Lastly, it might not be easy to encounter a new self, it takes time to finally, accept your appearance.

Case Study on Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery
Michael Jackson

Michael Joseph Jackson was an American singer-songwriter, entertainer, dancer, arranger, music producer, choreographer, actor, businessman, musician, and philanthropist. He is often referred to as the "King of Pop", or by his initials MJ. Jackson is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. His contributions to music, dance, and fashion, along with his publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades.
Michael Jackson has gone through many plastic and cosmetic surgeries in his lifetime. He has even claimed to be addicted. He was born African-American, but bleached his skin white.  He was being mocked at by people of ages as they felt that he looked better before his plastic and cosmetic surgery!
Look at his timeline. If you compare Michael Jackson before and after plastic surgery, he honestly looked better before plastic surgery. Bleaching his skin and the repeated surgeries caused him many health difficulties and he is commonly viewed by people and themedia as a plastic surgery gone wrong! Plastic surgery was unsucessful on him because it didn’t seem to bring much good to his life, and affected his career and performance.

In this case, you can see the effect of non-stop alterations and the unsuccessful outcome of plastic surgery. Michael Jackson has done countless nose jobs, he had his first rhinoplasty(nose job) after breaking his nose during a complex dance routine in 1979. However, the surgery was not a complete success, and he complained of breathing difficulties that would affect his career.

Case Study on Piercings
Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera is an American singer-songwriter and television personality. During her first decade in the music industry, she became a prominent figure in mainstream popular music and popular culture.

Christina Aguilera has five piercings in her ears and one piercing each in her nose, her lower lip, her right nipple, her eyebrow, her naval. She also has, as quoted, “A diamond stud in her most intimate place”. She claimed that she got all those piercings as she was rebellious. She, however, took out all her piercings except for the one in her right nipple and a few others, as she felt she had no need for them. Her piercings reportedly caused a security alert at an American airport after setting off alarms.

By removing her piercings, she might have known the harms of piercings. She has also claimed that she did the piercings as was rebellious then. To her, she might think that piercings hurt a lot so she decided to take it off and maybe she felt that it looks really unappealing to her audience. Furthermore it is not easy to accessorize with piercings.

Case Study on Piercings
Jayy Von Monroe

Most people tend to think that members of rock, metal and alternative bands are covered in piercings. But surprisingly, that’s not true. It’s actually really hard to find someone from that scene that is loaded with piercings. However, many of them do have piercings. The most common ones are snakebites, medusas and labrets. Basically, they are examples of .piercings surrounding the area at the mouth. Among the bands that play rock, metal and alternative music, the above piercings are more common than the common ear piercings.

Some examples, are:
Mike Fuentes (Drummer, Pierce the Veil): Medusa and Labret
Chris Motionless (Singer, Motionless in White): gauges, snakebites, vertical labret
Zacky Vengeance (Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals, A7X): snakebites, septum, gauges
Corey Taylor (Singer, Slipknot/Stone Sour): nipples, ears
Ben Bruce (Lead Guitar, Asking Alexandria): spiderbites, gauges
.

Jayy von Monroe is an electronic/crunkcore band member from Blood on the Dance Floor. He has snakebites and stretched earlobes, furthermore, he has nose, ear, tongue and a bridge piercing.  He also used to have a dermal on both of his cheek bones. He has a pierced taint too.

He has the amount of piercings that are quite expected of heavy metal or rock bands. Among fandom debates on social medias, such as tumblr and twitter, they are sometimes used against him during arguments on ‘what a poser’ and other worse insults. However, they have forgotten that 90% of ‘real’ band members don’t have that many piercings.

Some details about Blood on the Dance Floor: They are widely hated and 70% of their tumblr tag is all insults and flames.  Long story cut short, they had a few really dirty songs that became mainstream, causing people to overlook their meaningful songs, and some random person on the internet called them heavy metal. Since then, Blood on the Dance Floor has been known as a poser in the metal genre.

In our opinion, Jayy is very misunderstood by many. It’s not his fault that he is gay etc. He is actually not as tough as he looks. As a matter of fact, one of my friends in America has met him at one of their concerts, mentioning that he is friendly.

Many think that people with piercings have major or minor psychological problems. They feel that people who do piercings on unusual places of the body or face is due to their suicidal thoughts because many of the piercings are very painful. As some of them are afraid of committing suicide, they decided to do piercings that also cause a lot of pain. However, it is proved to be wrong. Many do piercings just for fun and to look better and cooler.

Case Study of Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery
Madonna
Definition of cosmetic surgery: face lift: plastic surgery to remove wrinkles and other signs of aging from your face; an incision is made near the hair line and skin is pulled back and excess tissue is excised; "some actresses have more than one face lift"
Madonna is a world famous US singer-songwriter, businesswoman and actress. She has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and is recognized as the best-selling female recording artist of all time, recorded in the Guinness World Records.
Madonna undergone multiple facial cosmetic procedures, which is also known as ‘‘mini face-lifts’’ or laser resurfacing facial operations. There were suspicions of her undergoing Botox injections, as well as a facelift with volume restoration, possibly using a collagen replacer. She had several reports of undergoing cosmetic surgeries such as face lift, nose job, chin fix, jaw reduction, and filling injections. Madonna had temporary hyaluronic acid fillers to lift her cheeks, as well as blepharoplasty (surgery on the lower and upper eyelids), collagen injections in her lips, a neck lift, or a chin enhancement.

In many of the interviews, she has insisted that she never ever undergone any surgery at all. However, there are evidences that show that she has undergone cosmetic and plastic surgeries before.
There is no presence of wrinkles around her fore head and crow’s feet around her eyes' area, which indicates that Madonna had done Botox Injections & Restylane Injections. Looking at the picture of her before and after plastic surgeries, it can be observed that in 1998, her cheeks are very saggy and wrinkly even when she applied make-up. However, in 2008 (10 years later), she should be looking much older. However, in the picture above, which she had applied make up too, her cheeks made her look younger instead. This shows that she had possibly undergone cosmetic surgeries.
It was reported that Madonna had undergone sapphire and diamond treatment too. These are procedures in which the skin is exfoliated and a serum is applied. In sapphire and diamond treatment, a tool coated with sapphire crystals aggressively rubs the skin, removing the dead cells of the skin. This causes patients looking red & shiny because a layer of skin has been removed, giving them a youthful look.
Along with mini facelift, laser treatments, nose job, she has been suspected to have undergone breast surgery or implants. The rumours spread like wild fire when Madonna had seemingly grown by a cup size, when compared to her smaller chest in early 2006. However, it is quite possible that Madonna’s busty look of recent is because of Push Up Bras and Chicken Cutlets.
