Xiaxue is a Singaporean celebrity blogger who posts about her life, fashion and local issues. Her main blog, which attracts over 20,000 readers per day, has won prestigious blog awards and earned her sponsorship deals, as well as stints as a columnist and TV show host.

She revealed on her blog: “I did something really drastic yesterday. I did plastic surgery!!And not just namby pamby nonsense – two eye surgeries at once!

The pictures above show the contrast between before and after surgery. If you have compared how she looked like in 2003, to currently, you won't be able to tell it is the same person. Yes, she has became much prettier to some people, but to me, it just ruins her natural identity. Her eyes are significantly longer and bigger, nose looks more sharp and defined and lips look more shaped. She wants to have the perfect facial features, and achieve the perfect looks. However, after doing so, she had only destroyed her natural face as she looks so different that it does not look like the same person back then. It shows she had no confidence in her previous image, the one that her parents had given her as she wanted to alter it.
Why did Xiaxue feel comfortable doing alterations(plastic surgery) to her body?

Xiaxue feels that it would make her feel more confident both mentally and physically. Why would auch alterations make her feel more confident in her appearance?

It is due to the different types of plastic surgery procedures she have done. For example, eye and nose surgeries. Plastic surgery can be painful, why does she continue to do plastic surgeries then?

As I say earlier, she feels more confident and she wants to look good. Maybe for the sake of looking good, she does not mind suffering the pain. In quite a few cases, many celebrities done plasstic surgeries to look better but turned out to be worse. Why does she continue to do plastic surgery without any worries of looking even worse than before?

Some plastic surgeons reassured their customers that they would be much beautiful than before and she is being convinced by them. Furthermore, she has done quite a few plastic surgeries and the outcomes are quite good. However, plastic surgeries are very expensive, how is Xiaxue able to afford the many surgeries she have done?

She will definitely have many sponsors to sponsor her free plastic surgeries so that she will promote their companies on her blog to attract more of her readers to do plastic surgeries. Many of her readers know the cons of plastic surgery, so why will her readers be interested in doing plastic surgeries?

After doing plastic surgeries, she will look prettier. Some of the readers will feel that if they do plastic surgery, they would be able to look as pretty as Xiaxue. Hence, they decide to give it a try. After doing plastic surgeries, many of your friends might say that you are "fake" or "plastic", why do some of the readers still decide to undergo plastic surgeries?

Some of the readers do not mind the criticisms from others as they feel that they have became "prettier" through the surgery procedures, and this makes them feel good about themselves,enough to ignore the comments made by their friends. However, if their goal of doing plastic surgery is to look prettier and have people admire their appearance, why would they still want to do plastic surgery even though they might be criticised?

People who had undergone plastic surgery take the criticisms that people throw at them as a form of their jealousy. This is because they feel that they had became prettier, thus they are being described as 'plastic', which is also commonly used to describe barbie dolls, which are considered perfect.

This may be because the people feel that those who had undergone plastic surgeries and have ended up with successful outcomes look pretty, and thus would get jealous of their new attractive looks as compared to their own. They might criticise them so that they would make the people who had undergone plastic surgery feel less confident about their new looks and also regret about adjusting their natural features through plastic surgery.
